DPP Day 9 - O Christmas Tree...

Each year, leading up to Christmas, we decide how we want to decorate our tree for that year - a theme, color pattern, style, etc. My favorite is our homemade tree where everything has to be homemade to be on the tree - it is so fun because we always make more ornaments just for that year. We did that tree last year and it was the best homemade tree ever! This year, we decided to do a red, white and silver themed tree with lots of snowflakes and snowmen. This is the ornament that inspired this year's tree.

We found it while we were on vacation in Williamsburg at a cute little store called The Christmas Mouse. We bought it so we could use it as an inspiration to make more, but, we haven't found enough buttons at a good price, so this is a one of a kind on our tree!

Then, we found these that we thought were cute at the dollar store - 5 in the set for a dollar! Not too bad! We have lots of different snowflakes, snowmen, candy canes, angels, red and silver balls, icicle ornaments, white glittery garland and some misc. others that just matched! We only have white lights and a red poinsetta lighted star at the top.

How about you - do you do your tree the same every year or different? How did you decorate this year? Can't wait to hear from you!

This year I added photos to my tree. I found this old craft box in the attic that had about 20 plastic keychains that held a 2x3 picture. I took off the ring part and added ribbon to hang on the tree. I put pictures of me and my dad dancing at my wedding and Troys grandma and grandpa, family vacations, kids when they were babies it's like going down memory lane!

I understand many celebrate with trees and such but why when it is a pegan holiday? It has nothing to do with Jesus at all since he was born in Sept. at their last harvest. Does no one actually read their Bible? Christmas was actually celebrated by the pegans for the winter solstices and the Roman Catholics were having trouble getting people to come to church so they got them to combine their holiday and have them come to their church to get more people to come to church. That is how Christmas come about, 3000 yrs before Jesus was even born.

If you google the origan of Christmas you will get the true facts.
Hon, I know you won't post this on your site and that's okay, it's hard for most people to believe the truth. The would rather believe what the hear than what the READ. That's why they don't read their own bibles, they just listen to what someone tells them it says and they believe them whether it is the truth or not.
