DPP Day 5

I snapped this shot of Caleb tonight while he was practicing setting up the train (before it got
around the tree!). I love the focused look on his face.

DPP Day 4

Well, here is my pic for today - kind of random, but as I walked into my bedroom this afternoon, this was the image on my blinds that caught my eye. I thought that it was too cool to pass up! It is Christmas related, too, because the shadow was created by the stick tree that we have planned to use for our "Jesse Tree" in preparation for Christmas. Funny thing is that we had started the devotional activities and created some ornaments, but had not put them on the tree yet. Then, I saw this image and made myself get the tree, bring it in and put it to use! So, enjoy!

DPP Day 3

To appreciate my picture for today, you have to understand that my family and I have been praying for snow in Florida this year since August. In the middle of August, we had northern birds flood our yard - VERY early - and we took that as a sign of a cold winter coming. We had our coldest November in at least 5 years and have continued to believe that this winter would be the one that my children would finally get to see snow! So, all of that said, when we woke up this morning to see the yard COVERED in frost, you can only imagine that our excitement was hard to contain! Here are a few shots of the view from my world today:

We will keep praying and believing and let you know when God answers!

December Photo Project Day 2

So far so good! Here is the day 2 picture, per the request of my 3 dear children:

Hot Cocoa in Christmas mugs for a cold Florida morning!

It really is fun trying to decide what photo to post each day. Even if I really didn't need one more thing to do!

December '08 Photo Project

Somehow or other, I came across this website and more specifically this idea:

Basically, what you do is take one picture each day from December 1-25 showing what you are seeing in December or what you are doing or what December means to you and your family. You then post it on your blog and can link her website to your blog. I think that it would be a neat challenge and wonder how many of you may be willing to try it with me? Maybe it would get SOME of you blogging again!! =P So, here is my shot for today:

I was so excited that we have a tree in our yard that actually has leaves that are changing colors - even if it is December and others of you are having snow! Hopefully you will want to participate in this little project with me!

A Beautiful Saturday

Saturday in Central Florida was just beautiful! Since it was such a pretty day we decided to take the kids and go to Lake Eola for the afternoon. We went to the Library (the Downtown School Library as Caleb used to call it!) first and then walked over to the lake. Even Maggie got to go!

I loved this tree and then the swan just struck a pose!

Two swans posed for a picture:

You really can't tell how pretty of a day it is, but the kids are cute!

Me and my honey:

Hope that you had a blessed after Thanksgiving weekend and that you continued to be thankful and give thanks - go on a Thanksgiving Binge!

Happy 40th!

A week and a half ago, Beth turned the big 4-0!! A few of us got together to throw her a surprise party in celebration - no depends or denture bonds or black over the hill items were given, either!

Tina waiting, waiting, waiting...

Cheese!

We saved the fire department a trip by letting each candle represent 10 years!

It was a fun time with good friends!
